Where does Dagoba's cacao come from?
Dagoba sources cacao from cooperatives and farms in Latin, Central and South America. We travel to meet many of our producers and work with them on post-harvest processing and other projects. See our Origins section to learn more about the farmers and farming communities we work with.
Does Dagoba offer Fair Trade products or support equitable trading?
Dagoba was founded to offer exceptional chocolate that benefits people and planet. In all of our sourcing, we look for suppliers that share our Full Circle Sustainability principles - supporting Quality Ecology, Equity and Community from cacao farms to you.
Fair Trade Certification is one way to ensure farming families receive good prices for cacao, but we also achieve this by working directly with suppliers who share our values. We currently offer the following FTC items: Conacado and Milagros chocolate bars and drops, cacao powder, three hot chocolates, chocolate covered coffee beans and chocolate syrup.
To fulfill our mission, we also require that all cacao and ingredients are organic, sustainably grown and of the highest quality - practices which are not required as part of Fair Trade Certification. In this way, we aim to offer the best of all worlds. See our Origins section to learn more.
